HARDWICK – Michael J. Greene, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Born in Ashland, Michael went on to graduate from Ashland High School. In his youth, he worked for many years at Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton before becoming a successful stone mason.
He met the love of his life, Cheryl, and the two were married in 1986. They lived in Bellingham and Uxbridge for many years before moving to Hardwick.
Michael was an outdoorsman who loved nature and everything it had to offer. He would spend hours relaxing on the patio admiring his gardens and the local wildlife. He was very helpful around the family home and would take on all projects himself. When he was younger, Michael would fish all year round. He was also a prankster and always had a good sense of humor.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Cheryl Greene; two sons, Dana Greene of South Deerfield and Richard Greene of Northfield, NH; a daughter, Katherine Greene of Hubbardston; and his dog Penny, or as many knew her, “Bubba”.
Following his wishes, there will be no services. Michael loved animals, and in his memory, the family suggests donations in his name may be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, Greater Worcester Funeral Care.
