PAXTON – Michael J. Foley, 60, beloved husband of Cindy (Starkey) Foley, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 23, 2023. Born in Worcester and raised in Paxton, he was a son of the late William and Marilyn (Jerome) Foley.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Paxton. After graduating from Wachusett Regional High School, he went on to further his education at UMass-Amherst where he earned a bachelor’s degree and Anna Maria College, where he received his master’s degree. He was a software engineer for many years and was recently semi-retired.
He was a unique man who enjoyed dressing up for evenings spent at the Canal District in Worcester, where he enjoyed singing and dancing with friends. Michael supported several local artists and was a talented artist himself. He was known for his charcoal portraits. He will be remembered as an advocate for socialist alternatives, and always put 150% into causes that were important to him.
Michael will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 27 years, Cindy Foley; his son, Ethan Foley and his partner, Shayla DeGeorge of Paxton; his daughter, Elise Foley and her fiancé, Natalie Pelletier of Portland, ME; a brother, Thomas Foley and his wife, Junko of Japan; two sisters, Mary Foley and her partner, Lawrence Healy of Lakeville, MA and Patricia Foley-Reid and her husband, Jack of Littleton; two nieces and two nephews; and his faithful companion, Bonnie.
