S Virginia M. (Charron) Sansoucy

November 9, 1928 — March 29, 2011

WORCESTER – Virginia M. (Charron) Sansoucy, 82, of 25 Paradox Dr., passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.

She is survived by her loving husband, Reynald Sansoucy of sixty-two years, six children; Michele Feinsilver of Holden and her partner, Robert Hoye, George Sansoucy of Lancaster, NH and his wife, Pam, Donald Sansoucy of Providence, RI and his wife, Xiaoyu, Karyn Sansoucy of Worcester and her partner, Roy Thurston, Denise Sansoucy of Brookfield and her husband, Frank Phelan, and Lisa Sansoucy of Ithaca, NY. Virginia is also survived by ten grandchildren and her sister, Georgiana Cole. An older sister, Gloria Reeves, predeceased her.

Virginia was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of George and Marion (Fisher) Charron. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist who played for family. She took art lessons at the Worcester Art Museum for many years and produced exceptional watercolors and decorative paintings.

Virginia was a member of the Worcester County Model A Club and enjoyed antique car tours throughout New England with her husband and friends from the club. Virginia’s love of painting fostered her pastime of collecting antique hand-painted glassware and china. Virginia was a member of Christ the King Church and volunteered for many years caring for altar linens used during Mass.

Virginia gave her children an appreciation for art, music, literature and nature. Her home on Paradox Drive was always filled with fresh flowers, books and creative expression.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1st in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2nd, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Joy of Music Program, a community based program for music education and performance, 1 Gorham Street, Worcester, MA 01605; or to the Worcester Art Museum, Educational Fund, 55 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
