STERLING – Mavis P. (Towne) Peeso, 88, of School Street, died Monday, July 17, 2006 in Hermitage Nursing Home after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, George E. Peeso; her daughter, Patricia A. Peeso of Sterling and several nephews and nieces. A brother, William Towne predeceased her. Born in Danville, Quebec, Canada she was the daughter of Everett and Effie (Towne) Towne and lived most of her life in Sterling. She was a graduate of Leominster High School.
Mrs. Peeso was a cafeteria worker for the Sterling School System for 25 years retiring in 1981. She was a member of the First Church in Sterling and its Women’s Alliance, the Sterling Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 Ladies Auxiliary. Mavis was a loving mother and wife.
A memorial service for Mrs. Peeso will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21 in the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
