Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Roberts) Daley

WORCESTER / STONEHAM - Mary Elizabeth “Beth” (Roberts) Daley, 92, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington on June 30, 2021. Born and raised in Fall River, Beth was the daughter of Michael E. and Genevieve A. (Murphy) Roberts and lived the last 4 years in Stoneham and over 50 years in Worcester. She wintered in St. Augustine, FL for 21 years. Her beloved husband of 62 years, James “Bud” Daley died in 2014.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her four sons, Michael E. Daley and his wife June, of Marstons Mills, James P. Daley and his wife, Karen of Sacramento, CA, Mark S. Daley and his wife, Julie of Brookline, and David B. Daley and his wife, Patricia of Bradenton, FL; two daughters, Patricia A. Tupaj and her husband, Randall of North Grosvenordale, CT and Colleen M. Azzarello and her husband, Anthony of Stoneham; a sister, Michele E. Robillard of New Bedford; and 10 grandchildren, Megan, Jennifer, Jessica, Katelyn, Allison, Ellora, Giuseppe, Maggie, Twyla, and Grace; and several nephews and nieces. Her son, John P. Daley died in 2005. Besides her husband and son, Beth is predeceased by a brother, Michael Roberts and three sisters, Catherine R. Malinowski, Barbara A. Coristine and Genevieve A. Lamoureux.

Beth graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River and attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. She was a senior accountant in the Business Office at Worcester State University and retired in 1992. Beth was a member of Christ the King Church and volunteered as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Emblem Club in Fall River.

Beth enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was looking forward to becoming a great-grandmother this September. Her hobbies included: traveling both domestically and internationally, flower arranging, quilting, and listening to country music. While living at The Arbors in Stoneham, Beth enjoyed participating in exercise classes, attending lunch outings, making crafts, and watching the various entertainment performances. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at The Arbors for the kindness they showed her while she resided there.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Beth’s family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 11th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, July 12th, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to JDRF of New England, 60 Walnut Street #102, Wellesley, MA 02481.
