HUBBARDSTON / FAIRHAVEN - Mary P. (Nee) Cappuccio, 89, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband of 55 years, Michael A. Cappuccio, died in 2002. She leaves her children: Mary L. Hagstrom and her husband, Conrad of Millbury, Elda C. Mahoney and her husband, Richard of Brockton and Nancy M. Hurley and her husband, Michael of Fairhaven, and son, Michael A. Cappuccio II of Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Joan A. Cappuccio of Fairhaven; two grandchildren, Kurt J. Hagstrom and Lily Mae Cappuccio; four sisters, Celia Ronan, Nancy Supino and Peggy Bond and her husband, Thomas, all of Everett and Kay Travolini of West Peabody; a brother, Jack Nee and his wife, Kathy of Melrose. Her son, James C. Cappuccio, died in 2014. Two brothers, Joseph and Thomas Nee and a sister, Sarah Finn, predeceased her.
Mary was born in Boston, the daughter of Irish immigrants, Coleman and Celia (Cooke) Nee and was a graduate of Everett High School. She owned and operated with her husband and served as treasurer, MAC-MAE Bus Company, Inc. of Hubbardston for more than 50 years. She lived in Hubbardston until 2003 when she moved to their summer home in Fairhaven.
She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Hubbardston American Legion and a member of the Holy Spirit Church in Gardner.
Mary, an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with her husband. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature and she treasured being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23 at St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main St., Rutland. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Rte. 68, Hubbardston.
