NEW BRAINTREE/STERLING – Mary Susan Goss, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Robert W. Sr. and Joanne C. (Miller) Goss and had lived most of her life in Sterling before moving to New Braintree in 2001.
She leaves her son, Jesse M. Goss of San Diego, CA; her step-daughter, Aimee D. Lanning of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Robert W. Goss, Jr. of Annapolis, MD and Timothy L.M. Goss and his wife, Lisa of Princeton; two sisters, Amy J.M. Thrain of Buckhannon, WV and Marcie “Posie” Buffalo-Goss and her husband, Michael B. Day of West Boylston; two nephews, Richard “Ricky” Buffalo-Goss of West Boylston and Christopher Day of Weston, WV; three nieces, Elizabeth R. Goss of Princeton, Dhara R. Blanchette of Princeton and Emily Thrain of Buckhannon, WV.
Mary Susan graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, earned a Master’s Degree in Psychological Counseling from Worcester State College in 1988, a Master’s Degree in Science from Worcester State College in 1999, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University in 1999. She was working at Community Healthlink as an emergency service clinician in Worcester. Previously, she worked at Mass. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Riverside Community Care, Evergreen Center, CSAC Clinic, Spectrum Outpatient Services, Together INC, Adcare Hospital to name a few. Mary Susan has been dedicated to helping others in need since her journey started in 1987.
She was an active horsewoman and dog owner at heart. Mary Susan had tremendous passion and love for her animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, whom she cherished and was found often boasting about them to her friends. She worked tirelessly her entire life on making sure others around her, especially those she loved, were never in need. Mary Susan believed in selfless acts of kindness and had words of wisdom for those who listened. She will be missed dearly by many.
A celebration of life for Mary Susan will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd at the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443, 167 Main St., Cherry Valley. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the New England All Breed Rescue, 330 Henshaw Street, Leicester, MA 01524
