Mary G. (Mooney) Rotando

WEST BOYLSTON – Mary G. (Mooney) Rotando, 84, of Main Street, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, in Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston, after an illness.
Her husband of 25 years, Dan P. Rotando, died in 1990. She leaves a sister, Elizabeth Gauvin and her husband John of Leesburg, FL; a brother, James Mooney and his wife Helen, of Charlton; her nieces, Judith Roy of West Boylston, Laurie Catareet of Millbury, and Kathleen Sampson, of Sutton; and nephews, Peter Rotando of West Boylston and James Mooney, Jr. of Sutton. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas F. and Mary A. (McNally) Mooney and lived in Millbury before moving to West Boylston in 1965.
Mrs. Rotando was a graduate of Millbury High School and received her LPN from Girls Trade School in Worcester. She was a Sister of Mercy for 18 years. She was an obstetrics nurse at Memorial Hospital and later worked for Dr. Warren Trow, before retiring in 1966. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
A funeral Mass for Mrs. Rotando will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 17, in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 32 Church Street, West Boylston. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston, MA 01583. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
