HOLDEN – Mary F. (Hoffman) Leander, 84, of Kenwood Road, died Thursday, April 20, 2006 in Sterling Healthcare Center, Sterling, after an illness.
Her husband of 50 years, Robert W. Leander, died in 1998. She leaves her son, Robert H. Leander and his wife Leslie of Barre; three grandchildren, Michael Leander and his wife Meghan of Barre, Sara Morris and her husband Robert of Marlboro, and Kathleen Leander and her fiancé Lee Zereski of Holden; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers predeceased her. She was born in Paris, Texas, daughter of John D. and Ida Lee (Hope) Hoffman and graduated from Paris Junior College.
Mrs. Leander worked as a supervisor in insurance records for State Mutual before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden and a member of the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post 204 in West Boylston.
A memorial service for Mrs. Leander will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, in the First Baptist Church of Holden, 1216 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. For the care and compassion she received, donations may be made to the Sterling Healthcare Center, 18 Dana Hill Road, Sterling, MA 01564. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
