PRINCETON - Mary F. (Henneberry) Bennett, 89, beloved wife of the late Commander Paul L. Bennett USN (Ret.), passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Friday, December 17, 2021.
Born and raised in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Seery) Henneberry. Mary was a graduate of St. Columbkille’s High School in Brighton and went on to enjoy a long career as an executive secretary for Sonesta Hotels. Mary married US Navy officer Paul Bennett in December 1972 and relocated to California and New Mexico before settling in Princeton. Mary was a true animal lover, she loved anything with four legs. Over the years she shared her love with nine Irish Setters, two donkeys, and four horses.
She loved ice skating, the Boston Red Sox, her beloved first horse, Georgy Girl, her grandchildren, and any stray animal who wandered her way.
Mary will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Dan. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Edward Henneberry, and her sister, Rose Henneberry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, 1 Worcester Road, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s honor to Sarah H. Williams Treasure Hunt Farm Foundation, P.O. Box 696, Rutland, MA 01543. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
