Biography
STERLING – Mary “Dolly” B. (DiPasquale) Pichierri, 92, of Sterling died peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, under the loving care of her family and the staff at Sterling Village. Born in Worcester on February 13, 1920, Dolly was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Frank D. and Josephine (Iandoli) DiPasquale. After marrying the love of her life, Paul J. Pichierri on November 30, 1939, she lived in Worcester for many years, before settling in West Boylston, where they raised their children for 22 years and later spent 15 years in South Yarmouth before moving to Sterling in 1990.
Dolly graduated from North High School in Worcester and the Fairchild Business School in Boston. She worked over 10 years for Fraser and Wagner Marketing Services where she was a Demo-Coordinator until the age of 81. Previously, Dolly worked as a bookkeeper at Wonder Bread and Ray’s Furniture Store both in West Boylston.
She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling. Dolly loved playing the piano and accompanying her sister Tillie, who together performed at various events in their youth. Dolly cherished spending time with her family and was known for her cooking and being a gracious host and entertainer. In her spare time, you could find Dolly shopping or socializing with friends over lunch at The Manor.
Her husband of 58 years, Paul J. Pichierri, Sr. died in 1998. She leaves her daughter, Darlene M. Paradise and her husband Robert of Princeton; four sons, Paul J. Pichierri, Jr and his wife Bethany of St. Thomas, Ronald F. Pichierri and his wife LouAnn of Sterling, Jack F. Pichierri of Sun City, Florida and Michael R. Pichierri and his wife Bonnie of Hubbardston; a sister, Loretta St. Andre of North Grafton, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Besides her husband, Dolly is predeceased by a grandson, Eddie Pichierri and a sister, Matilda Protano.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dolly’s family from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, at the Miles-Sterling and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), in Sterling, followed by a procession to St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Fund at St. Richard of Chichester Church, P.O. Box 657, Sterling, MA 01564, or the Activities Fund at Sterling Village, 18 Dana Hill Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
