Biography
WORCESTER – Marvin A. Singer, age 86, died on Tuesday, March 7th after a long illness at the Jewish Healthcare Center. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lois (Gold) Singer; a son, Steven Singer and his wife, Jessica Liebson of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Suzanne Singer of Auburndale, MA; a granddaughter, Mikayla Singer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Singer and Samuel Singer who was killed in action during World War II. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester Junior College and the Massachusetts Radio and Telegraph School in Boston. He was a HAM Radio operator for many years. He was a financial advisor at several investment security brokers for many years. He was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue and was a life member of its Board of Directors. He was a life member of the Jewish Healthcare Center. He was an active volunteer for the Sunday Morning Breakfasts for over forty years for the Brotherhood of the Beth Israel Synagogue. He actively volunteered and served meals at Bet Shalom. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:30PM, THURSDAY, MARCH 9TH AT BETH ISRAEL SYNAGOGUE AT 15 JAMESBURY DRIVE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial Observance will be held through this evening at the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester. A Minyan service will be held today at 6:00 PM at the Jewish Healthcare Center. Memorial Observance will continue 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Friday, March 10th at the Singer Residence, 503 Mill Street, Apt. 222, Worcester. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, 01609 or Beth Israel Synagogue, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester, 01609 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
