Life Legacy
WORCESTER - Martino Palladino, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 14, 2018, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 65. Born on March 25, 1952 in Macerata Campania, Italy, Martino was a son of Stanislao and Luisella (Richardi) Palladino. Martino spent most of his youth working on his family’s farm in Macerata Campania. He later worked as a stone mason and served in the Italian Armed Forces. On April 21, 1977, Martino married the love of his life, Giovanna Ventriglia, and together, they migrated to Worcester where Giovanna’s family had recently moved to from Italy. They embraced their new community where they spent the following 40 years raising their family and participating in the parish life at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Martino worked 25 years for A.F. Amorello & Sons, Inc. in Worcester as a union worker. Martino was a member of Worcester Lodge 168 Sons of Italy. He enjoyed playing Bocci in their league at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He looked forward to summer evenings working in his garden, playing cards with his family and friends, and working on a variety of puzzle books. He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Giovanna (Ventriglia) Palladino; two daughters, Luisa Palladino of Worcester and Antonietta MacKenzie and her husband, Collin of Gloucester and their daughter, Ava Grace; his son, Stanley Palladino and his fiancée, Becca Hart of Worcester; and two sisters, Mariella and Adelina both of Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Martino's family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 18 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, January 19, at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
