Biography

WEST BOYLSTON – Martin L. Dosick, 85, of West Boylston, died on Monday, August 15, 2016, following a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Jocelyn E. (Nesson) Dosick; a son, Jonathan Dosick and his wife, Melissa of Spencer; a daughter, Rebecca, wife of Daniel Bernzweig of Hopkinton; and a sister, Eleanor Dosick of Weston. He was born in Boston, a son of Joseph and Anne (Shriber) Dosick and was raised in Brighton. He had lived in Longmeadow from 1965 to 1999 and Wilbraham for 9 years before moving to West Boylston in 2009.

Martin received a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Boston University and a Doctorate Degree in Sociology from UCLA. He was a Sociology Professor at Springfield College from 1965 until his retirement in 1996. He had a special interest in Holocaust Studies and in Criminology.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United States Holocaust Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place S.W., Washington, DC 20021-2126.

A commemoration of Martin's Life will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Angell Brook Village Clubhouse, 130 Angell Brook Drive, West Boylston.
His funeral arrangements are under the direction of Richard Perlman of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
