Biography
SPENCER - Martin P. Civin, age 83, died on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. He leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Sigel) Civin; two sons, Keith Civin and his partner, Lisa Sloan of Natick and Todd Civin and his wife, Katie of Winchendon; a daughter, Melanie, wife of Stephen Kenion of Winchester; his grandchildren, Max and Tori Kenion, Julia Civin, Erika Dodge and her husband, Darren, Corey Civin and Jessica Gordon, Joshua Civin, Kate and Dakota Contois, and Ben and Max Sloan; and two great-grandchildren, Addie and Lukas Dodge. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert H. Civin.

Martin retired from Dynasurf Chemical Corporation after a 50 year career in sales. He was the author of two books, "Memories" and "Roads I Have Traveled." He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Marty was very active with the Spencer Lions Club, Spencer Finance Committee, Spencer Little League, Spencer Charitable Needs Committee, Spencer American Legion, and Irving Yarock Post #32 of the Jewish War Veterans. He was also a Tri-Valley Elder Ombudsman and a long-time, part-time employee of Brookfield Orchards. Following his retirement, he hosted a weekly TV show on the Spencer cable access station and he was a member of the McDonald's morning coffee group.

GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 1:00 P.M. ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, AT B'NAI BRITH CEMETERY ON ST. JOHN'S ROAD IN WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.

Immediately following the interment service, there will be a reception at the Civin residence, 26 High Street in Spencer where Memorial Observance will continue from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Food Pantry, 60 Maple Street, Spencer, MA 01562.
