Martha J. (Conway) Gabriel
August 8, 1945 — March 5, 2020
WORCESTER - Martha J. Conway Gabriel, 74, of Worcester passed away after a period of ill health on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Martha was born in Niagara Falls, NY and graduated from St. Mary’s Hall – Doane Academy in Burlington, NJ. She was a secretary/receptionist for Bose Corporation and Astra Pharmaceutical Corporation for many years.
She was a daughter of the late Mason Francis Conway and Margaret (Morrow) Conway. Martha lived in numerous communities along with her husband, John. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John N. Gabriel of Worcester and a son, Charles Mason “Chuck” Gabriel and his wife, Lauren Brandt of Cambridge. Martha leaves many close friends from childhood, adulthood, and friends she had yet to meet. Martha was such a loving and caring person that Raquel and Michael Cariello called her "the east coast parent."
Her family is grateful for the caring, compassionate, kind and outstanding care she received from the whole staff of Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Family and friends are invited to join the Gabriel family for visiting hours from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A family burial will be on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1:30PM in United Lebanese Cemetery, 50 Corbett Street, Lawrence, MA.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha’s name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Avenue, Worcester 01606.
Arrangements are under the direction of Philip G. Haddad, Jr., Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
