KEENE, NH/RUTLAND – Martha A. Amsden, 56, formerly of Rutland, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Cheshire Medical Center, Keene after an illness. She was born in Worcester on July 7, 1956 and lived in Rutland before moving to Keene, New Hampshire in 1991.
Martha graduated from Marian High School in Worcester, attended Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner, and worked for several years as a nurse’s aid in the Keene area. She enjoyed watching old movies, reading, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Amsden of Keene, NH; her mother, Irene (Torpey) Amsden of Rutland; three sisters, Karen Greenwood of Rutland, Kristine Yannone and her husband Eric of Keene, NH and Lynne Amsden of Rutland; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Amsden.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Martha’s family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a funeral service honoring her life at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Rural Cemetery, Rutland.
