JAMAICA PLAIN - Marsha Ann Zabarsky, 72, of Jamaica Plain, MA passed away on July 5, 2024 after a long fight with multiple sclerosis.
Marsha was a reporter for Newsweek Magazine and various Boston independent newspapers. She was also a public relations professional, as well as an advocate and activist for disability and children's rights.
Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Marsha graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, Northeastern University, and Cambridge College. She was endlessly curious, was an avid news junkie with strong political views, and was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved cats, soap operas, and ordering vegetarian snacks online.
Marsha was pre-deceased by her father Charles, her mother Blossom, as well as by her brother Alan and her sister Donna. She leaves her brother-in-law Jay Kaminsky, sister-in-law Temie Zabarsky Hillman, niece Karen Kaminsky and nephews William Kaminsky, Robert Kaminsky, Richard Kaminsky, and Adam Zabarsky. For many years of dedicated support, much gratitude goes to her best friend, Nicci Meadow, and her many home health aides including Adebimpe (Bim) Ogunlade, Omolade (Beatrice) Atitebi, Ermilia Compere, Minerve Compere, Mary Akinmejiwa, among others.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at the B'nai B'rith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Rd, Worcester, MA.
