WORCESTER – Julia M. (Arseneault) Pendleton, 94, died peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester.
Her husband of 49 years, Wayne E. Pendleton died in 1984. She is survived by a son, Wayne E. Pendleton, Jr. and his wife Toni of Torrance, California; a daughter, Joan P. Brunzell and her husband Robert of Cotuit and formerly of Holden; two brothers, Allen Arseneault of Auburn and Joseph Arseneault of Quebec, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Paul Mong of Northboro and Wayne Mong of Sutton. Two brothers, Charles and Theophile Arseneault and two sisters, Rose Roy and Arabella Brewer predeceased her. She was born in Saint-Isidore, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of Mathias and Julia (Brison) Arseneault, and lived 40 years in Shrewsbury before moving to Worcester in 1962.
Mrs. Pendleton worked for Donovan Ice Cream and was a waitress at the Frohsinn Club, both in Shrewsbury. She was a devoted Catholic and member of The Holy Family Parish in Worcester, formerly known as St. Joseph’s Church. She was an Associate member of The Little Franciscans of Mary and a Eucharistic Minister at both St. Joseph’s and St. Francis Home in Worcester.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18th, in the Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. At Mrs. Pendleton’s request her body was donated to the UMass Medical School, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Hospice, 1183 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
