Marlene A. (Barnes) Gullett

September 16, 1931 — July 30, 2016

WEST BOYLSTON – Marlene Ann (Barnes) Gullett, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester. She was born in Port Washington, New York, the daughter of John H. and Audine (O’Neil) Barnes and had lived in Tennessee and Pennsylvania before moving to West Boylston in 1973.



She leaves her loving husband of 64 years, David E. Gullett; two daughters, Deana Montgomery and her husband, David of Stow and Elissa Lindsay and her husband, Paul of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Andrew and Colin Montgomery, Kyle, James and John Lindsay.



Marlene had most recently been a secretary for ten years at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury before retiring in 1993. She was a member of First Congregational Church of West Boylston, a past member of the Beaman Oak Garden Club, the West Boylston Council On Aging and was a friend of the Beaman Memorial Public Library. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and visiting area libraries with her husband.


A memorial service in memory of Marlene will be held on Tuesday, August 9 at 1 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
