Holden – Mark B. Palmerino, 56, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Anthony and Sarah (Elbourn) Palmerino.
Mark graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and then received his Ph. D. in social psychology from Harvard University in 1987. Since 1990, Mark has made market research his passion. He joined the Boston firm the Center for Strategy Research and worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies across the world throughout a long and successful career. He currently was a co-owner and executive vice president and research director of the firm. Mark had several passions in his free time including being a private licensed pilot, an avid gardener and a talented wood-fired griller. He was an active member and elder of the Grace Communion Church of Holden. He was passionate in his love for God, and he loved his family and his friends with a beautiful, embracing grace. Over the years, Mark also found time to volunteer for the Wachusett Food Pantry.
Mark leaves his beloved wife of 27 years, Bethanne (Stanhope) Palmerino; his two children, Emily S. Palmerino of San Francisco and Timothy M. Palmerino of Holden; his two sisters, Cynthia Austin and her husband, Michael and Kathy Cardinale and her husband, John all of Baltimore; his brother, Matthew Palmerino of Baltimore; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Alex Palmerino and by his sister, Lori Hendricks.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Mark’s life on Saturday, February 21, at 11 a.m., in the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main Street, Holden, with Pastor Dishon Mills officiating. A reception in the parish hall will immediately follow the service. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Wachusett Food Pantry (
