HOLDEN/WEST BOYLSTON – Marjorie M. (Racine) Paul, 85, of West Boylston, died peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease in the Autumn Village in Worcester on Monday, September 14, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda D. Marshall of West Boylston; two grandchildren, LauriAnne and Kimberly Angela. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Frederick W. Paul. Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Albert and Angelina (Bedard) Racine.
Mrs. Paul graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer in 1941. She also graduated from the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Mrs. Paul worked for Dr. Leroy Mayo in Holden as a registered nurse for many years. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes, baking, needlepoint, and reading novels. Marjorie's later years were spent in assisted living where she continued to be active. Under the loving support of Ginny, the activities director, she enjoyed volunteering at the "resident coffee shop".
A graveside committal service for Mrs. Paul will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brookhaven Hospice, c/o Sister Anna Marie, 6 Beach Street, Framingham, MA 01701-0170
