HOLDEN – Marjorie E. Williams, 83, of 7 Mount View Drive, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Umass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
She leaves five nephews and nieces, Stuart W. Macomber of Newton, Richard K. Macomber of Marion, Nancy Macomber Gauthier of Worcester, Lynn Drinkard of Cumberland, Maine, and Lance Dow of Cumberland, Maine; 10 grandnephews and grandnieces; and 10 great-grandnephews and grandnieces. Her stepmother, Esther (Dow) Williams, two sisters, Madeline Williams and Doris Macomber, and stepbrother, Philip Dow, predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, the daughter of Roy E. and Flossie M. (Graves) Williams, and lived in Sterling, Bolton, East Princeton and many years in Worcester before moving to Holden in 1974.
Ms. Williams graduated from Hudson High School in Hudson. She was a Purchasing Agent for State Mutual Life Assurance Company in Worcester for 16 years retiring in 1986. Previously, she worked at Wheelock Printing Company in Worcester and worked many years in her father’s convenience store, East Princeton Country Store, in East Princeton. She was a long time member and supporter of the Local 4H Club and enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and various crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and traveling extensively around the world.
The funeral service for Ms. Williams will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2004, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clinton Road, Sterling in the spring. Calling hours are from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, in the funeral home.
