HOLDEN – Marjorie C. (Coggeshall) Bates, 95, formerly of Holt Road, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Overlook Masonic Healthcare, Charlton.
She leaves her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Louis Bates; and six nieces including Judith E. Sikes of Holden and Carol E. Stys of Tewksbury. A brother, Dexter E. Coggeshall, Sr. and a sister, Priscilla C. Eales predeceased her. She was born in Newton, the daughter of Dexter E. and Esther (Fogg) Coggeshall, and lived in Holden since 1939. She attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bates will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29th, in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis Church Memorial Fund, 70 Highland Street, Holden, MA 01520.
