NORTH BRIDGTON, ME / PRINCETON, MA – Marjorie Louise (Carpenter) Cutler of North Bridgton, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. She was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of George and Madeline (LeGeyt) Carpenter, on May 8, 1935.
Marjorie was raised in South Lancaster and then moved to West Boylston where she graduated from Major Edwards High School.
She met her husband, Leonard Cutler in 1952 and they married in 1955. They lived in several locations before moving to Princeton where they settled for 32 years. In 2002 she and her husband retired to Maine. She enjoyed hiking and taking photographs of wildlife and nature. They also spent the winters in Ft. Myers, Florida, where she enjoyed walking the beaches and collecting shells. Besides her husband of 58 years, she leaves her daughter, Julie Cutler of Salem, New Hampshire; her sister, Marion McCann and her husband, Paul of Gardner; her brother-in-law, Richard Cutler and his wife, Virginia of Rochester; her sister-in-law, Ruth Shalline and her husband, Kent of North Bridgton, ME; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Carpenter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Monday, December 16, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be at Grove Cemetery, 1284 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
