HOLDEN – Marion E. (Tuysuzian) Deranian, 98, formerly of Apple Tree Lane, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly after an illness.
Her husband of 55 years, Diran Deranian, passed away in 2004. She leaves a son, Dee J. Deranian and his wife Lianne of Windham, NH; two daughters, Susan M. Deranian and her husband Tom Dow of Peabody and Norma D. Grove of Manhattan Beach, CA; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and nephews and nieces.
Marion was born and raised in Chelsea, the daughter of Sarkis and Mary (Gamarakian) Tuysuzian and formerly lived in Lewiston, Maine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Brighton before moving to Holden. She graduated from Chelsea High School and attended Temple University in Maine. Marion was an executive secretary at Gimbals Department Store in Philadelphia. She was an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden singing in the choir for 20 years and was a member of the altar guild.
A memorial service for Marion will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden, MA 01520. A private committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
