Marion graduated from the former Commerce High School in 1946 and worked at Norton Company in Worcester prior to joining her father, Pandi at the family neighborhood store known to all as “Pete’s” located at the corner of Millbury and Maxwell Streets in Worcester. In 1967 at the untimely passing of Pandi, Marion assumed ownership of “Pete’s” and with the assistance of her sister, Dorothy and brother, Jim who helped on evenings and weekends, until the business was closed in July 1979. Marion, Dorothy, and Jim along with their mother, Margarita moved to West Boylston taking with them their many fond memories from the neighborhood and store. Marion was a voracious reader of historical and biographical books; a great speller; and the one who had the best memory of family history and events. She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered as a kind, sweet, and gentle lady. She will be sorely missed in the daily lives of her family and at family gatherings. In addition to her siblings, she leaves 2 nephews, Christopher L. George of Brockton, and Matthew P. George and his wife, Heidi; and a grand nephew, Theodore “Teddy” Vasil George of Reading, born in April of this year and who brought Marion much joy. She also leaves many cousins here and in Albania. Her mother, Margarita, passed away in 1991. Marion was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church in Worcester. Family and friends are invited to join with Marion’s Family for visiting hours from 10:00 – 11:45 AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester.
