Marilyn S. (Sheahan) Furmanick

February 18, 1934 — March 19, 2004

WEST BOYLSTON – Marilyn S. Furmanick, 70 of 86 North Main Street, died Friday, March 19, 2004, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 28 years, John A. Furmanick; two sons, William A. Oser of Holden and John P. Oser of New Braintree; two daughters, Kristiane M. Oser and Sharon R. Oser both, of Brooklyn, New York; two step-sons, John Furmanick and Joseph R. Furmanick, both of Sterling; one step-daughter, Jacquelyn M. Jiroux of Sterling; a brother, John Sheahan of Arolson, Germany; and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Franklin L. Sheahan. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of Franklin L. and Mary (DeLaney) Sheahan. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School and from Boston University.

Marilyn grew up in Worcester and lived her adult life in Sterling before moving to West Boylston in 1983. She worked at the Oakdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for 22 years. She was a member of the VFW Post # 6907 in West Boylston and she loved to read and visit with family in New York.

Mrs. Furmanick’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
