Marilyn C. Sarli (Kane), 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Concorde (Morin) Kane.
Marilyn attended local schools and graduated from North High School in 1954. She continued her education at Salter Secretarial School in Worcester, and began working at Heald Machine Co.
Marilyn married the love of her life, Joseph N. Sarli, in a beautiful ceremony 67 years ago. Together, they were blessed with seven children, creating a warm and loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories.
While raising her own children, Marilyn provided daycare in her home for thirteen years, extending her nurturing and compassionate nature to countless families. Later in life, she embarked on a successful career as a Salesperson at Dress Barn, where she dedicated thirty-one years of service before retiring in 2018.
In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed the creative outlets of sewing and knitting. She delighted in crafting beautiful and thoughtful handmade items, such as, her daughters holiday dresses, handmade knit goods, which she generously shared with her loved ones. She also hosted family dinners every Sunday.
Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Sarli, and her brother, Paul Kane. She is survived by her husband, Joseph N. Sarli of Worcester; her children, Scott and Steven Sarli of Vermont, Joseph Sarli Jr. and his wife Inez, of Worcester, Joanne Quist and her husband David of Paxton, Laurie Cammuso and her husband Jeffrey of Worcester, and MaryBeth Turner and her husband Mark of Shrewsbury. She was a devoted grandmother to Melissa (Chuck), Janell (Rob), John (Ali), Michael, Devin, Alex, Ryan, Brandon, Tanyon, and Andressa and a cherished great-grandmother to Charlie, Jack, Michael, Elise and Leo. Marilyn also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Irene Kane, her brother-in-law, Battista Sarli, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will dearly miss her.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, located at 118 Main Street in Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester followed by a burial at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Marilyn's name to Dana-Farber/Jimmy Fund or to Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
