STERLING – Marilyn C. (Regonini) Morgan, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at UMass Memorial – Healthcare Alliance Hospital Leominster after an illness. Born and raised in Clinton, Marilyn was the daughter of Louis and Gemma (Porciello) Regonini and lived over 50 years in Sterling.She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son, Peter L. Morgan of Sterling; two daughters, Paula J. Morgan and her husband, Nelson Checkoway of Newton and Sharon A. Morgan and her husband, Ray Orciuch of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Peter, James and John Regonini; three sisters, Lucia Johnston, Joni Regonini and Jean Lamlein; five grandchildren, Eva and Spencer Checkoway and Hayley, Kyle and Chase Orciuch as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marilyn is predeceased by a brother, Louis Regonini and her granddaughter, Chloe Checkoway.Marilyn was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1957. One of eight children, she learned early in life to be resourceful and responsible. Later while raising her children and working as a secretary, she returned to school and fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming an artist. While working as a graphic designer for Digital Equipment Corporation, Marilyn won an award for her design work for The United Way. In 1981, Marilyn’s entrepreneurial spirit, creative ability and exceptional fashion sense inspired her to open M.T. Pockets, a high-end consignment shop in Sterling which she operated for over 33 years.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marilyn’s family from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 19, at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, October 20, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling.
