The daughter of Morris and Eva (Jagodnik) Rozefsky, Marilyn (Rozefsky) Perlman lived in Worcester throughout her life. An accomplished mental health professional dedicated to serving the Worcester-area community, she received a masters degree in social rehabilitation and counseling and a certificate of advanced graduate studies from Assumption College. In addition to her work as a clinical supervisor, psychotherapist, and manager at Community Healthlink, Marilyn maintained a private practice for 35 years. She was known for her empathy, kindness, and warmth as well as her passion for social justice. Marilyn consistently promoted the idea that everyone should have equal rights, opportunities, and access to mental health treatment. Additionally, she served as an adjunct professor at Assumption College and Quinsigamond Community College. Throughout her career, Marilyn helped to educate numerous mental health professionals by presenting across Massachusetts and the United States.

Marilyn was fortunate to have a lot of humor in her life. She had wonderful friends and a beautiful friendship with her husband Richard (Richy) Jaffe Perlman, which was initially solidified through bonding over their shared experience of lovingly caring for their sick mothers. Together, Marilyn and Richy traveled the world, meeting and appreciating the diversity of how people lived, interacted, and loved. Marilyn and Richy always said they never let their marriage interfere with a long abiding friendship. In the end, they hoped that their relationship would transcend many lifetimes.

Marilyn is remembered as a dedicated wife, loving mother, and a doting grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richy, and their two children, Caroline Braun Perlman Cahn (David Lawrence) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Evan Harry Perlman (Catherine Caroline Crow) of Arlington, Virginia. Marilyn leaves behind four wonderful grandchildren: Jessica Perlman Cahn of Baltimore, Sarah Perlman Cahn of Washington, D.C., and George Bennett and Harry Morris Perlman of Arlington. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Lois Rozefsky Berg of Worcester. Marilyn will be missed by her dear Bassett Hound, Sonata. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Burton Franklin Berg, her niece Betsey Lynn Berg, and her nephew Jonathan Samuel Berg.

The family would like to thank the staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center and the Rose Monahan Hospice Home for their unwavering kindness and care of Marilyn.
