Marilyn R. (Davis) Smith Jacobson

HOLDEN – Marilyn R. (Davis) Smith Jacobson, 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Knollwood Nursing Center. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, she was a daughter of the late Winthrop and Ruth (Allen) Davis.

Marilyn was a longtime member of and very active in Olivet Congregational Church in Bridgeport, and later joined Salem Covenant Church in Worcester. She lived a quiet life, and was a loving mother who dedicated her time to raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, reading her bible, baking, and many years of family camping. She was loved for her kindness and her gentle demeanor.

She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two sons, Roger K. Smith and his wife Cathy of Fairfield CT, and Robert W. Smith and his wife Melanie of Holden MA; her sister, Marcia Dodd and her husband Harrison of Cheshire CT; her three grandchildren, Kelly Fitzgerald and her husband Conor, Benjamin Smith and his wife Ginny, and Timothy Smith; and her new great-grandson, Macallan Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased in 1994 by her first husband, Harmon M. Smith, to whom she was married for 45 years. She was also predeceased in 2018 by her second husband of 24 years, Burton Jacobson of Princeton MA.

Marilyn will be laid to rest in Trumbull, CT at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden MA.
