WORCESTER – Marilyn Marks Goodwin died peacefully on August 9, 2022, at the age of 94. Marilyn was born in Worcester on October 27, 1927, to the late Thomas & Anne (Siff) Marks. Her husband, Arnold E. Goodwin died in 1997; they were married for 44 years. Not a day went by that she did not miss him. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Melissa Goodwin Silk of Quincy, her brother and sister-in-law Milton & Doris Marks of Bedford, NH, and her beloved granddaughters Atlee Goodwin Silk of Memphis, TN, and Kaitlyn Price Silk of Brighton. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Martha James, Warren & Michael Deutsch, Debbie Hanafin & Shelley Marks, Lisa Davis, and Amy Cohen. She was also predeceased by her son Thomas Price Goodwin, brother and sister-in-law David & Shirley Marks, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Morris & Leona Deutsch, and her niece Beth Temma Marks.
Marilyn attended Classical High School in Worcester and graduated from the University of Michigan. After she was married, she worked for 38 years with her husband who owned Goodwin's, Inc. in Southbridge, MA, where they also lived for 46 years. Marilyn was an expert knitter and loved to play bridge, in fact she met Arnold on a blind date at the bridge table. After Arnold's death in 1997, she made Worcester her home. One of Marilyn's most beloved attributes was doing for others and volunteerism. She was an active member of Temple Emmanuel, where she was a past VP & a member of the Board of Trustees. She was also instrumental in creating and maintaining the Temple's archives. Marilyn was a member of the Temple Sisterhood, where she was recipient of the Woman of the Year Award in 2006. She was also a life member of Haddasah and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Jewish Healthcare, Congregation Ohavath Zion of Southbridge, and was past president of Bet Shalom Board of Directors.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 15th at 10:30am at B'nai B’rith Cemetery, Worcester. Marilyn’s service will be live streamed on the Miles Funeral Home website,
