SOUTH LANCASTER – Frances Marie Seymour died at UMass Memorial in Worcester on January 12, 2010, at the age of 82. She was born on October 3, 1927 to Joseph and Anna Czarnecki (nee Bednarcyzk) of Clinton. She grew up in Clinton helping her parents run their store on Green Street across from Lancaster Mills, where her mother and father worked. She attended Our Lady of Jasna Gora’s St. Mary’s School and was a graduate of Clinton High School.
She met and married her husband Cecil Russell Seymour of Lancaster in 1951. They were married for 57 years. Frances was a loving mother, who always put her family first. Nothing brought her more happiness than caring for her children, her grandsons, and any stray animal in Lancaster who had the good fortune to turn up on her doorstep! She loved to read, cook and garden. She was a great listener, and loved to hear about the car racing and track/field exploits of her two grandsons!
She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Russell Seymour. Two daughters survive her, Catherine Seymour of Worcester and Andrea Seymour-McCauley of Darien, CT. Also surviving is her son, Robert Seymour of Barre and both of her much-loved grandsons, Matthew Seymour of Barre and Jake McCauley of Darien.
A private burial service will be held at Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster on Wednesday, January 20th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a small donation to be made to a local MSPCA. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
