STERLING – Marie J. (Bisson) Day, 88, of Bean Road, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the Life Care Center of Leominster.
Mrs. Day was born on March 5, 1922 in Clinton, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Gould) Bisson. She was a graduate of Leominster High School and has lived in Sterling since 1938 and wintered in the Florida Keys for the last 20 years. She was owner and operator of Bea's Yarn Shop in Sterling for 11 years. She was a member of the First Church in Sterling and enjoyed knitting and fishing in Key West, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth A. Day; three sons, Nathan K. Day of Amity, ME, Dennis A. Day and his wife Lisa of Sterling and Richard A. Day and his wife Joanna of Antrim, NH; two daughters, Carol Dalton and her husband Richard of Servierville, TN and Rachel M. MacPhee and her husband David of Holden; a brother, Joseph Bisson of Fitchburg; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, William and Alden Bisson, predeceased her.
Funeral services are private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sterling Senior Center, P.O. Box 243, Sterling, MA 01564. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
