SPENCER – Marie ''Jan'' Jeannette (Cote) Michaud, 68, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
She leaves her son, Stephen R. Brodeur of Holden; a daughter, Suzanne T. Brodeur of Holliston; two brothers, Joseph L. Cote of Holden and Donald R. Cote of Connecticut; a sister, Elaine Arsenault of Sutton; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Audrey, Jhoseph and Gabriella; nephews and nieces. A sister, Suzanne Coonan, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of J. Leon and Marie (Gallant) Cote, and lived in Oxford and Worcester and 16 years in Spencer.
Jan graduated from Worcester Junior College and worked as an administrative assistant at Westboro State Hospital before retiring in 2002. She previously worked at WLB Channel 22 in Bangor, Maine, the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, Worcester Art Museum and the Massachusetts Office for Children. She enjoyed reading, traveling, theater, shopping, dinning out and spending time with her family.
The funeral for Mrs. Michaud will be held on Friday, June 2, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Entombment will follow in the Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Imus Ranch, a working cattle ranch for children with cancer, P.O. Box 250, Ribera, New Mexico, 87560.
