RUTLAND – Maria (Paszt) Votruba, 68, of 12 Campbell Street, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Mass General Hospital following a short illness.
She leaves her husband of 50 years, Julian Votruba; two daughters, Barbara L. Marshall of Sacramento, CA and Lila M. Holmes of Charlton; a son, Julian P. Votruba of Oakham; seven grandchildren, Rochelle L. and Sean E. Marshall, Stephen W. Hall and Lauren M. Holmes, Michael J., Nicholas J. and Arline K. Votruba; two sisters, Leokadia Wyka of Worcester and Helen Blake of Chicago, Illinois. A brother, Edward Paszt and a sister, Stella Nowak predeceased her. She was born in Kolonia, Poland, daughter of Jan and Katarzyna (Medzgier) Paszt.
Mrs. Votruba worked as a cashier for St. Vincent’s Hospital for 20 years. Prior to that she had worked for U. S. Envelope Company in Worcester. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and enjoyed playing cards, flowers, dancing and spending time at family gatherings.
The funeral Mass for Mrs. Votruba will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 26, in St. Patrick’s Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
