WORCESTER /HOLDEN– Maria "Sue" Assunta (McGrail) Larson Kelleher, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of James J. and Maria Assunta (Meola) McGrail and graduated from North High School.
She leaves her husband of 34 years, John “Jack” Kelleher; three sons, James Larson, Kenneth Larson, Jr. and his wife, Lisa and Christopher Larson and his wife, Kate, all of Holden; a step-daughter, Donna Kelleher of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Kaileigh and Colleen Carroll, Erika, Samuel, Joseph, Allie and Jacob Larson. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kimberly (Larson) Carroll and her first husband, Kenneth L. Larson, Sr., but is survived by her close friend,Ken's wife, Beverly R. Larson of Worcester.
Maria was a dispatcher at Swissport, the former Dynair, at the Worcester Airport for fifteen years. She served her community for many years as a poll worker for the City of Worcester. Maria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who keep the family together with her love throughout the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Funeral services for Maria will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
