PAXTON - Margaret M. (Ashe) Pennace, 75, died peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Whitinsville. She was born in Providence, R.I. and grew up in Lowell, the daughter of the late George T. and Margaret M. (Grady) Ashe.
Margaret graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1965 and attended Simmons College. She married the love of her life, John R. Pennace, and the couple lived in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge before settling in Paxton 45 years ago. Margaret devoted her life to being a wife and mother, and was a strong advocate for education, teaching both her children to read as toddlers. She was involved in Girl Scouts for several years serving as a troop leader. She also especially enjoyed working in her garden.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, John R. Pennace; her son, Alexander Pennace, Site Reliability Engineer for Google of Waltham; and her daughter, Laura Stroming of Staten Island, N.Y. Margaret was also predeceased by her brother, George Ashe, and her stepmother, Helen (Henderson) Ashe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, April 21st at St. Columba Parish, 10 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery, 261 Richards Ave., Paxton.
