HOLDEN – Margaret N. (Johnson) Slattery, 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an illness. Margaret was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Arthur R. Johnson and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden 50 years ago.
Her husband of 20 years, Ralph F. Slattery, passed away in 1980. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne L. Guthart of Royal Palm Beach, Florida and Nancy A. Hurley of Salisbury Beach; her mother, Jessie A. (Horne) Johnson of Holden; a sister, Nancy Arciniegas and her husband Dr. Eduardo Arciniegas; four grandchildren, Keith and Jeremy Guthart and Joseph and Monica Hurley.
Margaret was a secretary for 20 years at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester retiring in 2001. She was a member of Greendale People’s Community Church in Worcester.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Friday, September 14, at 11 a.m. in Greendale People’s Community Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester. A private committal service was held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Florida, 1637 Metropolitan Blvd., Suite B, Tallahassee, FL 32308. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
