RUTLAND/QUINCY – Margaret M. (Dee) O’Hare, 88, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Tatnuck Park in Worcester.
She was married for 50 years to James M. O’Hare, who passed away in 2001. She leaves two sons, Joseph D. O’Hare of Taunton and J. Paul O’Hare and his wife Janice of Santa Cruz, CA; four daughters, Mary Margaret O’ Sullivan and her husband Joseph of Brentwood, NH, Betsy A. O’Hare of Mountain View, CA, Rosanne G. O’Hare and her husband Philip Buckley of Quincy and Meg M. Starbard and her husband Evan of Rutland; a daughter-in-law, Paula O’Hare of Milford; twelve grandchildren; seven great-granddaughters; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Three brothers, Joseph, Robert and Richard Dee, predeceased her.
Margaret was born in Worcester, the daughter of Michael S. and Elizabeth F. (May) Dee and lived in Quincy for over 40 years. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and received her nursing degree in 1945 from Children’s Hospital in Boston where she continued to work as a pediatric nurse for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church in Quincy. She was an avid gardener, loved birds and taking care of children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 from the funeral home with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 115 Crescent Street, West Quincy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Patrick’s Church, P.O. Box 939, Rutland, MA 01543.
