FRAMINGHAM - Marcia Rae (Dobis) Sadick (September 4, 1929 - June 20, 2024) was born in Boston and raised in Wellesley Hills, MA, the youngest child of Joseph and Sylvia (Waldman) Dobis. She came to Worcester in 1947 to attend Clark University. Through a dear college friend, Phyllis (Sadick) Manko, she met Alvin Sadick, to whom she was married from 1950 until his death in 2001. Marcia quickly found her place in the Worcester community, assuming leadership roles in a number of non-profit organizations including Women’s American ORT, the Worcester Jewish Federation, Flagg Street School PTA, and others. In the 1960s she earned a license in real estate and launched a successful residential real estate brokerage firm, joined by Alvin in the 1970s. She was equally proud of her Wellesley roots as she was of her years in the Worcester community. She later lived in Newton and, most recently, in Framingham where she received loving care at St. Patrick’s Manor.
She loved family gatherings, books, a good laugh, the opera, symphony, Scrabble, bridge, playing the piano, poetry, and the beauty of the sky at sunset. She loved her family, immediate and distantly related. She also loved her friends: friendships she retained from each chapter of her life. And above all she loved her husband, Alvin.
Marcia was predeceased by Alvin in 2001, and by her eldest son Shimon (Myra Weisfeld) in 2013. She leaves her daughter Sherry Sadick Wilgoren and her son Stuart (James Bryant), as well as her grandchildren Joshua (Krista) and Stacey Wilgoren, Simcha Sadick (Chavie), Christian Bryant-Sadick, and great-grandchildren Yissachar Dov and Bracha Sadick.
She leaves her sister-in-law Ruth Rubin, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirl and Sherwood Friend. She was predeceased by her siblings Lawrence (Roz) Dobis and Charlotte (Malcolm) Herman, as well as by her in-laws Harry and Madelyn Levenson, David and Nancy Sadick, Phyllis and Harry Manko and Allen Rubin.
She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 21st at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. Memorial Observance will be announced.
