PRINCETON – Marcia D. (Dunning) Greene, 79, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Melba (Reichert) Dunning and had lived in Cincinnati before moving to Princeton in 1990. She was predeceased by her brother, Ned Dunning. She leaves her loving husband of 27 years, Lawrence C. Greene; three sons, Steven D. Groome and his wife, Susan of Maineville, OH, Jonathan K. Groome and his wife, Drew of Peachtree City, GA and James H. Groome of Lenoir, NC; two step-daughters, Wendy E. Hurdman and her husband, Andrew of New Jersey and Sherry L. Gelinas of Ashburnham; a step-son, Lawrence C. Greene and his wife, Angela of Princeton; and twelve grandchildren, Abby, Alex, Zach, Katie, Paige, Isabel, Caroline, Mason, Scott, Parker, Jack and Logan. Marcia graduated from Garden City High School on Long Island, NY in 1956 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Duke University in 1960. She worked as a Paralegal at Rendigs, Fry, Kiely, & Dennis in Cincinnati OH for several years before retiring in 1990. Marcia loved spending time with her family, especially cherishing the times spent annually with of all her children and grandchildren at Grant’s Camp in Maine. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Larry to many locations, including many adventures in Latin America. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially birding in North and South America. She and Larry built a Southwest style home in the biologically diverse area of the Chiricahua Mountains in Arizona where they were involved restoring a watershed and protecting key lands. She will be missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, December 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Marcia will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, at the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road, Princeton. A private committal service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
