HOLDEN - Marcella Patricia, “Pat”, Eagan, 93, of Holden passed away peacefully under the loving care of her family and staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Pat was born and raised in Pittsfield, the daughter of George E. and Marcella F. O’Hearn and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. She married her lifelong love, Edward L. Eagan, on August 27, 1955. They were happily married for 64 years.
Pat worked at Consumer’s Bank in Holden while raising four children. She was a member and volunteer at St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. She was a devout Catholic defined by her unwavering faith and admirable strength. This was passed on to her family and will forever be remembered and cherished.
“Nanny Pat” loved flowers. Her home greeted all who entered with the beautiful smell of roses. Her children and grandchildren fondly remember hours running through the backyard, adorned with pathways, stone walls, crawling greenery and bursting color. She and her husband spent many years sharing their gardening favorites with family and friends.
Pat enjoyed cooking, entertaining, spending time with her neighbors and friends, and meeting with her Bridge groups. She loved family, was steadfast in her morals and etiquette, and will be remembered for her loving, genuine, and thoughtful personality.
She is survived by a son, Brendan E. Eagan and his wife, Susan of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Patricia M. Eidinger and her husband, Jeffrey of Westminster, Jane A. Shooshan and her husband, Geoffrey of Paxton, and Sheila J. Stagman and her husband, David of Marstons Mills; eight grandchildren, Colin, Patrick, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Kimberly, Ryan and Summer; and eight great-grandchildren, Julian, Jace, Haylee, Lillian, Caroline, Owen, Connor, and Claire. Pat was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband, Edward L. Eagan
A calling hour will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 3rd at St Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Cambridge St., Worcester. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
