RUTLAND/DUDLEY – M. Justine (Kennedy) Richardson, 93, formerly of Dudley, died peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2012, under the loving care of her family and the staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Holden. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of Frederick and Estella (Mack) Kennedy and lived 43 years in Dudley before moving to Rutland in 1995.
Justine graduated from Lawrence High School and was a secretary with the law firm LeBeouf & Robinson in Webster. Previously, she worked in the Clerk’s Office at the Dudley District Court House and the law firm of Laval LeBeouf in Webster. She was a member and sang in the choirs of both St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland and St. Anthony’s Church in Dudley. She loved the creative arts including music and decoupage.
She was proud of her Irish heritage and will be remembered for her friendly, outgoing and optimistic nature.
Her husband of 38 years, Donald F. Richardson died in 1983. She is survived by her son, Donald G. Richardson and his wife Janet of Holden; a grandson, Matthew D. Richardson and his fiancée Kendra Leith of Cambridge; and many nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Frederick, Raymond, and Joseph Kennedy, and a sister, Marion Naughton, predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In celebration of Justine’s life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main St., Rutland. Burial will be at Corbin Cemetery in Dudley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
