Lucina (Hamel) Edson

STERLING – Lucina (Hamel) Edson, 56, of 136 Beaman Road, died in her home on Thursday, January 20, 2005, after a battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband of 35 years, Parker B. Edson; a daughter, Melissa A. Edson of Princeton; her parents, Joseph and Helena (Thomasetti) Hamel of Meriden, Connecticut; two sisters, Theresa Tartaglia and Joanne Ross both of Meriden. She was born in Meriden and lived in Sterling for the past 20 years.

Mrs. Edson worked for 15 years in the Real Estate Market in Northern Worcester County and more recently for Centre Realty in Sterling. She was a member of the Northern Worcester County Realtors Association, Past President of the Sterling Garden Club. She was an avid gardener.

The funeral for Mrs. Edson will be held on Tuesday, January 25, from the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 24, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
