Louis A. Urbanovitch

September 1, 1928 — June 24, 2016

PAXTON - Louis Urbanovitch has spent his entire life on the same piece of land in the heart of Paxton and on Friday morning, June 24, 2016 he passed away peacefully in the home he built with his own hardworking hands, with his loving family by his bedside. He was 87 years old. Louis was born in the family home on the farm, one of 9 children born to the late Anton and Sophie (Bullock) Urbanovitch, Polish immigrants who worked tirelessly to build a better life for themselves here in their new homeland. Louis attended from Worcester Boys Trade school but was not able to graduate because of the war. As his brothers were being shipped off to help with the war effort, Louis needed to be home to help his father with all the daily chores on the farm. The farm remained a significant part of his entire life as later together with his brother, Adam ran what then became the Urbanovitch Brothers Farm for many years. Louis also found time to work full time for the Town of Paxton Highway Department for many years, finishing whatever task he was assigned with focus and dedication. He was able to find time and energy for hunting and fishing and polka dancing on the weekends with his wife, Sally. He also liked vacationing in Maine and enjoyed ocean visits. Louis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Sally C. (Rymanz) Urbanovitch in 2011. He leaves his three children, Steven J. Urbanovitch and his wife, Helen, Suzanne E. Lulu and her husband, Robert and Scott M. Urbanovitch, all of Paxton; his two grandsons, Christopher and Brian Lulu and their companions, Kayla LeBoeuf and Courtney Bliss, who were wonderful caretakers for Lou and became his “adopted” granddaughters; his two brothers, Aleck Urbanovitch of Paxton and Joseph Urbanovitch of New Port Ritchie, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Peter, Adam, Frank, Adela, Statia and Frances.
