RUTLAND - Louis L. Lambert, Jr., 77, was stricken ill and passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. He was born in Fitchburg, the son of Louis L. and Margaret I. (Johnson) Lambert and had lived in Leominster before moving to Rutland in 1967.
He leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy L. (McRae) Lambert; three daughters, Christine M. Coulombe and her husband, Michael of Rutland, Patricia A. Cerasoli of Seneca Falls, New York and Mary Ellen Slamin and her husband, Joseph of Mashpee; three grandchildren, Ashley, James and Monica; six sisters, Betty, Mary, Pauline, Beverly, Linda and Lorraine; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis and Barbara and a brother, Robert.
Louis enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956. After serving his country, Louis went to work for Table Talk Pies, Inc. in Worcester for 19 years and later worked for Thomas’ English Muffins for 15 years before retiring in 2000. He also owned and operated Circle Plus for several years. He was an avid pool player and was well known for entertaining family and friends at parties by performing trick shots. He was a huge baseball fan and didn’t let a day go by without out checking in on his beloved Yankees. He enjoyed traveling with Dorothy to Lake Worth, Florida for the winter, and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Aug. 25, at 11a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
