WORCESTER – Louis J. Solaperto, 83, of 101 Chadwick Street, was stricken ill and died Friday, August 6, 2004.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, M. Janet (Cherry) Solaperto; a son, John A. Solaperto of Worcester; three daughters, Jeana A. Garoulis and her husband Billy of Worcester, Mary-Ellen Veraldi and her husband Thomas of Laughlin, Nevada, Louise M. Solaperto and her friend Gerald Picchierri of Worcester; a sister, Ann Dzieman of Rutland; three grandchildren, Alicia Veraldi, Jasmine Solaperto, and Thomas Veraldi; and two great-grandsons. Two brothers, Andrew L. and Francis A. Solaperto, and two sisters, Carmella C. Solaperto and Amelia Jacquinto, predeceased him. He was born and raised in Rutland, son of John L. and Margaret (Langella) Solaperto, and lived in Worcester for the last 53 years. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mr. Solaperto worked for Crompton & Knowles in Worcester for 45 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Alhambra Council, Knights of Columbus in Worcester. He loved cooking for his family and vacationing at Rhode Island beaches.
The funeral for Mr. Solaperto will be held on Monday, August 9, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, in the funeral home.
