PRINCETON/OCALA, FL – Lorraine A. (Thompson) Graves, 84, passed away on April 20, 2014 in Florida after a long illness. She was born December 28, 1929 in Howland, ME, the daughter of Maurice A. and Glenys (Myrick) Thompson. She lived in Maine and most of the New England states before moving to Florida several years ago.

Her loving husband of 37 years, Rev. Thomas H. Graves, I, D.A.O., passed away November 20, 1985. She leaves three daughters, Rebekah Graves Morin and her husband Steve of Ocala, FL; Virginia Graves of Ithaca, NY; Lorania Graves Gallant and her husband Ernie of Canaan, NH; a son, Thomas H. Graves, II of Winchester, NH; three foster children, Hope Wotton of Friendship, ME, Faith Esposito of Monson, MA and Charity Hayes of Waldoboro, ME; a sister, Janice Caverly; two brothers, Alton and Donald Thompson; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Clara Cummings, Julia Thompson and Ruth Jipson and a brother, Galen Thompson.

Lorraine’s biggest joy was the raising of her (and other’s) children and supporting her husband in his ministry before he passed. Over the years she also held many different jobs including clerical positions for several different companies. She also worked at a nursing home and the Common Ground Country Fair in Maine. She was a member of TOPS chapter FL610 in Ocala, the Choral Society in Clinton, CT and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed bird watching, crafts of all kinds, and had won several state contests for her sewing skills. She will be sadly missed.
